At House of Harstad, we believe the best kind of beauty is the kind you make yourself - even if "making" just means arranging what's already gorgeous. Our classes are equal parts workshop and gathering: a few hours of moss, blooms, and good company, led by hands that know their way around a preserved petal.
No green thumb required. No mess to clean up after. Just an afternoon (or evening) of playful sophistication, and something lovely to take home.
MOSS ART
Nature's original wall art - no watering required.
Moss walls and moss art pieces are having a moment, and for good reason: they're textural, sculptural, and endlessly alive-looking without asking a single thing of you. In this class, we'll walk you through building your own preserved moss art piece from scratch - layering textures, shaping composition, and finding the balance between wild and refined that defines the House of Harstad look.
You'll leave with a finished piece ready to hang, plus a new appreciation for just how much personality a little moss can hold.
FRESH BLOOM BARS
Pick your blooms. Build your story.
Think of it as a flower bar with a plot twist — you choose from a curated selection of fresh, seasonal blooms and greenery, and we guide you through building an arrangement that's entirely your own. Part floristry lesson, part creative release, the Bloom Bar is our most social class - ideal for girls' nights, birthdays, or an excuse to get your hands full of flowers on a Tuesday.
Every station is stocked, every stem is beautiful, and every arrangement walks out the door looking like it came from a much fancier afternoon than it actually took.
(BYOV) BRING YOUR OWN VASE
The vessel is yours. The vision is too.
Have a vase with sentimental value, a thrifted find you've been saving, or a shape you've always wanted to fill? Bring it in. In our BYOV class, you'll design a preserved or fresh arrangement built specifically around the vessel you love most - with guidance on proportion, texture, and color to make sure the final piece feels tailor-made.
It's the most personal class we offer, because it starts with something that's already yours.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Every House of Harstad class is small, intimate, and hands-on - this is a studio, not a lecture hall. Materials are included, no experience is necessary, and you're welcome to bring a glass of something while you work. Whether you're coming solo to unwind or bringing a group to celebrate, you'll leave with a finished piece and (we're told) a little more patience for the art of slowing down.
Classes are held at our Minneapolis studio. Private and group bookings available for showers, corporate team events, and celebrations of any kind.
